Synopsis
Noonick, an exceptional Artificial Intelligence designer, became aware of Professor Macro Fari's project, which managed to reproduce and describe on a quantum computer all the emotions as a human being experiences them. It is the missing piece he needs to complete his morbid project of artificially recreating the mind of the mother he lost as a child and returning to enjoying her advice and company. Thanks to the immense amount of money at his disposal, he bribes some executives of the most essential multinational technology company in the world. He tries to realize his project by organizing an elaborate and, according to him, perfect plan. But something goes wrong, and it will take years for what was born from that meeting to manifest itself in all its strength, asking the protagonists to understand whether the human race is ready to live with technologies that, once again, will shape our existence.
Max's comment
Glimpse is, first and foremost, a story of how the future, when we talk about disruption, can now be written in every part of the world. It is a story of how, despite attempts to regulate AI, it, in one way or another, is destined to be present in our lives.
When I wrote it, the AI wave had not yet emerged as it did after November 2022 when the arrival of Chat-GPT woke up thousands of dormant startups and brought the arrival of Artificial Intelligence to everyone's lips " definitive."
Even then, the need to understand was high; the feeling of being close to something momentous was in the air, even for those who didn't frequent Nerdopoli.
And so partly as a challenge to myself, partly out of this desire to tell, I tried to develop the story of the "random" birth of a SUPER AI capable of fully understanding human feelings and of doing many, many more things...
The book talks about Big Tech and startups, hackers and AI programmers, legal regulation, and life above it, but above all, it tries to give a fleeting glimpse of a future that is ever closer.
